We’re thrilled to share a recent Dura Supreme kitchen remodel project at Studio M Kitchen & Bath, Minnesota. Kitchen and bath designer, Megan Dent, worked with her clients to transform their old, outdated kitchen into a fresh and functional space that allows for entertaining large family gatherings.
The homeowners were dreaming of an updated kitchen with a timeless style. Megan helped bring their visions to life by selecting a delicate flat panel door, the Highland door style in a combination of a Personal Paint Match finish to Benjamin Moore’s “Winds Breath” paint color and “Mission” stained Red Oak cabinets and floating shelves by Dura Supreme Cabinetry.

The large formal dining room adjacent to the kitchen was rarely used by the homeowners. To create a larger, more open space for the kitchen, the wall was removed from between the unused formal dining room and the kitchen. A new dining room was created in the front of the house, giving new life to an underutilized formal living room space.

This beautiful new kitchen features double kitchen islands with functional storage and seating for the whole family, a dry bar, and a dedicated desk area for working from home.
Megan creatively increased kitchen storage by dropping the upper cabinets all the way down to the countertops on each side of the window. She used pocket doors so the hidden under-counter space could be more easily utilized.
Each of the two kitchen islands has its own unique purpose. One kitchen island, the “Working Kitchen Island” is for cooking, baking, and prep, while the other island, the “Entertaining Kitchen Island”, is designed for entertaining guests, setting out food for grazing, and everyday informal family meals.

On the working kitchen island, a built-in custom butcher block table is at the perfect height for kneading or rolling dough, and the slatted storage shelf underneath neatly stores frequently used equipment.

The kitchen office is designed for functionality and contains custom file storage to keep clutter at bay.
A special pantry cabinet was created for all the small appliances. This cabinet was designed so that each appliance could sit on its own shelf.
The unique apron front sink is made of quartz and features a nice drip rail to catch spills.
“We had a wonderful experience working with Megan on our kitchen remodel. We spent a solid six months, (our choice) in the design phase. Megan was patient and with us, every step of the way,” explained the homeowners. “We are so pleased with the end product and quality of the Dura Supreme Cabinetry.
