This stunning Alaskan home sits on a beautiful hillside overlooking the scenic views of the Cook Inlet off the Gulf of Alaska. With such astonishing surroundings, the new kitchen for this home needed to be just as stunning.
Designer & owner, Hollie M. Ruocco, CMKBD of Creative Kitchen Designs, Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska was excited to work with her client and local architect on the creation of this new home.
The homeowner wanted a sleek, easy-to-maintain kitchen focused on the fabulous views. As soon as Hollie saw the architect’s initial plans with a large open area and walls of windows she knew it deserved a cutting-edge kitchen design with a warm yet modern color palette.
The Long Waterfall Kitchen Island with a Breath-Taking View
“The open area was perfect for a large kitchen island,” explained Hollie. “Getting the countertop installed and the paralleling waterfall ends to match up was a challenge because of the extensive length of the island.” The cherry island adds a natural warmth to the center of the home and is packed full of storage and functionality.
“I love the addition of the workstation sink in the kitchen island with dual faucets.”
Cutting-Edge Skinny Shaker Cabinets
To keep on theme with the clean, modern lines throughout the architectural features of the home Hollie suggested using Dura Supreme’s Reese door style. Reese is a skinny shaker door known for its sleek, thin rails and stiles.
A Spa-Like Master Bathroom with a View
The master bathroom has its own spectacular view! A slab cabinet door, Chroma, was used in a soft “Pearl” painted finish to create a tranquil spa-like design.
“My clients love their new home! The kitchen is truly the heart of their home,” shared Hollie,” They spend a lot of time in their new kitchen and love how everything works just as they imagined.”
