When it comes to designing bathrooms Dura Supreme has many options of vanity cabinets to choose from. From individual cabinets that can be used to create a larger unit, to our pre-engineered Furniture Vanities that offer a more customized look, we’ve got you covered. But one vanity style stands out on its own: Wall-hung vanities.
Wall-hung vanities – or ‘floating’ vanities as they are often referred to in the industry – are cabinets made to hang off the wall. They are not a traditional base cabinet so therefore there’s no toe kick. In fact, the toe kick area is completely open, giving a more modern twist to the traditional vanity cabinet style. Our wall-hung vanities come standardly at 18.5″ high and are typically mounted at 18.5″ above the finished floor. That’s a lot of space below, which can help to open up the room, especially in smaller baths. They are also built in a way that they don’t need additional support below, as long as they are installed properly, and they can support most countertop materials.
Just like Dura Supreme’s furniture collection vanities, you can design for single or double sinks, and they come in different configurations including all doors, door and drawer combos, as well as all drawers.

Contemporary Designs
Wall-hung vanities are often seen with more contemporary designs, therefore we see quite a few that use more contemporary door styles. The openness below the sinks also adds to a more clean, modern look. Add some lighting underneath and you’re really getting the vibe!
Below is a design from our friends at Cabinet Haus and Plainview Design + Build of Bismarck, North Dakota. The door style is our Camden solid wood slab door in Quarter-Sawn White Oak (QSWO) in the “Sesame” stain. A couple of 2-sided end panels were used to cap off the ends and note: they don’t support the vanity boxes!

This striking design is another project featuring our Camden slab door in Red Oak with “Black” paint. We love how the lighting reflects off the beautiful open grain of the wood! The openness under the vanities keeps the space airy and light.
The floating vanity design below was created by Parr Lumber out of Spokane, Washington, and features our Textured TFL slab door, Tempo-Vertical. The simple lines of the heavy pulls compliment the doors of this large bath with a double vanity.

This next bathroom designed by Happy Home Services of Port Charlotte, Florida has us in the mood. We are loving the grey tones throughout the room, and the floating vanity in the Camden door with the “Toast” stain on Maple adds warmth. And check out that arched window!

Transitional Designs
Of course, transitional design can also use floating vanities as it takes a traditional door style and gives it a contemporary twist when used with a wall-hung vanity. The below projects showcase this popular design aesthetic beautifully and show you can have the best of both worlds.
This bath features so many details that are on-trend in Interior Design right now. The floating double vanity with our Carson door in painted “White” sets off everything around it, from the Zellige tile on the walls to the rattan ceiling light fixture. Timeless!

The bath below shows another beautiful transformation using wall-hung vanities. Another example of our Marley door as an inset door style in Knotty Alder with a warm “Praline” stain applied.
Lastly, we have a lovely floating vanity with a large two-person vessel sink. The corner was turned to maximize storage and floating shelves were added for additional storage.
